That GO-GOs musical, "Head Over Heels," closed last night at the Hudson Theatre. The show had a pre-Broadway run at the Curran Theater in San Francisco, never caught on with New York audiences.
Believe it or not, THE JACKSONS are still touring... but not a lot. They'll be doing a coupla concerts with KOOL & THE GANG this month in Sydney Australia... where it's warm.
We've all heard about PHIL COLLINS' son, ,who's drumming for dad on his current tour, but his daughter, LILY, is also a star --she made her debut as Fantine in the BBC's new adaption of Les Misérables last week and got pretty good reviews, too. She was born in 1989 --30 years ago-- to Phil's second wife, who's American...
One last thing --with the movement of the minimum wage to $15 bucks, it's only appropriate to mention it was yesterday that HENRY FORD made the minimum wage $5 a day--back in 1914... along with an eight-hour-workday and profit sharing for the folks working for him. That woulda made the hourly wage back then 62 and a half cents... 105 years ago. That was just at the Ford Motor Company, however. It wasn't until 1938 that the federal government passed a law to make an hourly minimum wage ...25 cents!
