Bleed for the Throne! If you haven't gotten the word and you're a "Game of Thrones" fan, the folks at the Red Cross are doing a blood donation giveaway for the season eight premiere of GOT.
It works like this --donate by March 17 and you'll automatically be entered for a chance to win one of five trips to the premiere including travel for two, up to two nights hotel accommodations and a $250 gift card for expenses. Plus, if your donation is taken March 07-12, you'll get an exclusive Game of Thrones T-shirt which looks like you've been stabbed in the chest (while supplies last). Head here for more details.Ever have a delay on an Amtrak train?
Some folks on board an Amtrak train from Seattle to Los Angeles were stranded in Oregon for over 24 hours because of several fallen trees blocking the tracks as a result of the Sunday night storm.
Worse, the passengers could not get off because of the more than four feet of snow extending in every direction.
Fortunately, there was power for the 183 people on board as well as food and water which the staff handed out free of charge. The Amtrak rescue train arrived this morning and are headed back to Eugene, Oregon, about 45 miles northwest... but the passengers will have to stay there until the tracks are cleared.Do you have to take a selfie everywhere? The Detroit Free Press reports the folks at Ohio's Cedar Point amusement park have reversed their policy which banned visitors waiting in line for the park's roller coaster, "Steel Vengeance," from carrying cell phones.
That's because people kept losing their phones during the ride which has not one, not two, but four inversions --and everything can fall out of loose pockets.
Now, park officials have added zippered pouches to the bottom of the roller coaster seats, to hold phones and other loose items. -
