You might have heard about that guy who drove his car onto the Long Island Railroad tracks Tuesday and was attempting to go through the crossing even though the gates went down... and was hit by not one, but two trains coming from opposite directions. Turns out he was trying to run away after he'd had a minor crash with another car and was trying to get away. Didn't work, since his car was hit by an eastbound train, then pushed into the path of a westbound train, before it was crushed and torn into pieces. Police are still attempting to figure out the identities of the two other people in the car as well.
DETRIC LEE McGOWAN was a hero for about a day. He's the guy who bought 129 boxes of Girl Scout cookies from two members of Girl Scouts Troop 1574 in Mauldin, South Carolina. Everybody got all excited after Detric told reporters he saw the girls shivering outside a Bi-Lo grocery store, told the parents he thought the girls were cold and gave them $540 for the rest of the boxes they hadn't sold.
But part of the reason he may have had the cash to spend was revealed after Detric was arrested Tuesday when a federal grand jury in Greenville indicted him and 10 others for conspiring to import and distribute heroin, cocaine and fentanyl. You're probably all over social media to begin with, to plug your show.
