Today's opening day of the baseball season, and the best-selling baseball jersey in the major leagues? Thanks for asking: it's BRYCE HARPER's. He was the guy who signed that 13-year, $330 million contract with the Philadelphia Phillies earlier this year. And now, his jersey has knocked NY Yankees outfielder AARON JUDGE's jersey outta the top spot, according to MLB.com and Fanatics info. The top-10:
10. Ronald Acuna Jr. (Atlanta Braves)
9. Anthony Rizzo (Cubs)
8. Christian Yelich (Milwaukee Brewers)
7. Javier Baez (Chicago Cubs)
6. Clayton Kershaw (Los Angeles Dodgers)
5. Yadier Molina (Cardinals)
4. Mike Trout (Angels)
3. Mookie Betts (Red Sox)
2. Aaron Judge (Yankees)
1. Bryce Harper (Phillies)Even though reviews for "Dumbo" were not great (Rotten Tomatoes gave it a score of 51-percent, for example), Hollywood insiders expect the movie (which opens in various locations as early as tonight) to rake in up to $150-million worldwide for its opening this weekend. That's more than a bit off of Disney's "Beauty and the Beast" ($357-million worldwide opening) or "Alice in Wonderland" ($210-million). Here in North America, the film should take in upwards of $55-million.
RITA WILSON, the actress, singer, songwriter and producer who's been married to TOM HANKS since 1988 (and had a couple of children with him) is getting a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame Friday morning at 11:30 am (Pacific) next to the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel. Rita was in the Broadway cast of the musical "Chicago," and coincidentally, also toured with the rock band, Chicago, in 2015 among her many credits. Tom and JULIA ROBERTS will be on hand to speak at the ceremony; Rita's album, called "Halfway to Home," is being released Friday as well.
