Yesterday in France, apparently everybody ran out to buy a copy of the VICTOR HUGO classic, "The Hunchback of Notre Dame," as it went to the top of Amazon's best seller list in the country. And you haveta wonder: where will Quasimodo live now???
Six people on the cover of Time magazine's annual "100 Most Influential People" issue: DWAYNE "The Rock" JOHNSON, Speaker of the House NANCY PELOSI, TV Personality GAYLE KING, pro soccer player MOHAMED SALAH, actress SANDRA OH and singer TAYLOR SWIFT.
Look for MARK WAHLBERG to star in a new take on the old LEE MAJORS series, "The Six Million Dollar Man." Of course, with inflation being what it is, the new version will be called "The Six BILLION dollar Man," and will be a film instead of a TV series.
Hard to believe but true: GEORGE LUCAS, in a video done for a "Star Wars" panel yesterday, told fans Jar Jar Binks, one of the most hated characters in the movies, is actually his all-time favorite. The panel was set up for the 20th anniversary of "Star Wars: Episode I-- The Phantom Menace," and Lucas said "[It] is one of my favorite movies and of course Jar Jar is my favorite character." Let's hope he was kidding.
A new study published Monday in the journal Annals of Internal Medicine claims one early sign of Alzheimer's Disease is when older people fall for phone scams. The study of 935 older people in the Chicago area who originally had not been diagnosed with dementia, showed around 16 percent of the people who fell victim to financial scams or had low scam awareness at the study's start also tested with higher risk for Alzheimer's, dementia or mild cognitive impairment later on.
The first Latino American hip-hop recording group, CYPRESS HILL, will be getting a star on Hollywood's Walk of Fame tomorrow morning (Thu, Apr 18) at 11:30 am (Pacific), in front of Green Leaf Restaurant at Eastown. GEORGE LOPEZ and XHIBIT will be on hand to help present the award, and Cypress Hill will be performing tomorrow night at the world-famous Whiskey a Go Go in Hollywood to mark the occasion.
