If at first you don't succeed: You may remember a TV movie starring MATTHEW McCONAUGHEY as a lawyer who did his business from the back of a Lincoln Town Car. The movie was based on the MICHAEL CONNELLY book, "The Lincoln Lawyer," and now CBS is doing a whole series based on the book, with mega-producer DAVID E KELLEY behind the project. However, Matthew McConaughey is not starring, apparently.
Run for your lives: The TV series "Scream" is coming back for a third season --but not on its original network. Daily Variety says it'll air on VH1 instead of MTV beginning on Jul 08 with two one-hour episodes back-to-back for three straight nights.
Looks like San Francisco may not be selling those e-cigarettes in stores any more. Yesterday, city officials voted to ban sales in the city until the e-cigarettes are officially approved by the FDA. It's the first city in the US with such a law --if its signed by Mayor LONDON BREED in the next 10 days.
The law also will ban online retailers from delivering e-cigarette products to addresses in San Francisco. It's back: The Discovery network has scheduled it's ever-popular "Shark Week" from Jul 28 to Aug 04. You've been warned.
Tonight --and tomorrow night-- are the first Democratic debates of the 2020 presidential election. While there are currently 25 candidates vying for the Democratic nomination, 10 of them will be debating tonight and another 10 tomorrow night from 9 to 11 pm (Eastern) on NBC, MSNBC and Telemundo.
How did they pick the debaters for each night? Two random drawings, in which candidates were separated into those polling at 2 percent or above, and those who were below that level. That's so there would be no single debate with just poorly polling candidates.
So... tonight's lineup includes ELIZABETH WARREN, CORY BOOKER, JULIáN CASTRO, AMY KLOBUCHAR, BETO O'ROURKE, TULSI GABBARD, JAY INSLEE, BILL de BLASIO, and TIM RYAN. Thursday night includes JOE BIDEN, BERNIE SANDERS, KAMALA HARRIS, PETE BUTTIGIEG, KIRSTEN GILLIBRAND, MICHAEL BENNET, JOHN HICKENLOOPER, ERIC SWALWELL, MARIANNE WILLIAMSON, and ANDREW YANG. -
