It shouldn't come as a surprise, but as it turns out, members of the U.S. Women's World Cup winning soccer team will each receive a maximum of $200,000 each in prize money --just 18 cents on the dollar compared to men, who make a maximum of $1,114,429 each.
The London Guardian reports FIFA's rules for the World Cup men's team awards the winning team with $9.375 million, which is divided equally among the 23 players. There's also bonuses for advancing to a higher round as well. The Chicago Sun-Times reports the Chicago Transit Authority is going to hand out buttons for pregnant women to signal other CTA riders to give up their seats so they can sit down. Up until now, the CTA has relied on loudspeaker announcements and signs to remind riders to offer up seats to pregnant women --which don't always work.
"The tricky part in pregnancy is you're more prone to motion sickness when you're not the driver or the navigator, and just being able to take a load off by sitting down would be outstanding," Dr. Julie Levitt says. She's a clinical instructor of obstetrics and gynecology at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. "The other thing that happens is that when you're standing motionless, you're more prone to fainting because the circulation in terms of moving blood back to the heart is a little slower in pregnant women."The NY Post's Page Six says RYAN SEACREST has a new girlfriend --former "America's Next Top Model" contestant LARISSA SCHOT. Larissa is 24, while Ryan is 44. You may have seen her in ads for Gucci, Urban Decay and Nylon.
Will we see President DONALD TRUMP appear on an episode of "WWE SmackDown" this fall? According to a report by Sportskeeda, FOX has approached WWE about trying to make a Trump appearance on SmackDown happen, when the show moves from the USA network over to FOX on Oct 18. The backstory is that Trump has had history with VINCE McMAHON for decades, and WrestleMania events emanated from Atlantic City's now-closed Trump Plaza hotel and Casino in both 1988 and 1989. But sources say up till now the Prez has not been contacted about the idea.
