There's a new musical about PRINCESS DIANA in the works with music by BON JOVI keyboardist DAVID BRYAN and will open on Broadway next year.
The show, called "Diana," has already debuted at the LaJolla Playhouse in San Diego and is set to open at the Longacre Theatre on W 48th St in Manhattan on March 31st.
JEANNA de WAAL, who starred in "American Idiot" and "Kinky Boots" on Broadway will play Diana and newcomer ROE HARTRAMPF has been cast as a young PRINCE CHARLES.
The LA Times review of the show claimed it was "no more British than 'The Real Housewives of New Jersey'." However, the Hollywood Reporter claimed it "seems to have many of the pieces needed for a hit."KEN CUCCINELLI, the acting head of the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service, was asked yesterday if the words on the Statue of Liberty --a poem written by EMMA LAZARUS-- were part of the spirit of America. The poem says "Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"
But Cuccinelli replied, "Give me your tired and your poor who can stand on their own two feet and who will not become a public charge."
The term "public charge" is used by U.S. immigration officials to refer to a person who is considered primarily dependent on government assistance, such as Medicaid, food stamps, public housing or welfare.
Question for your listeners: How would you re-write the quote --or would you?Fox News reports MEGHAN MARKLE and PRINCE HARRY's friends have "stopped inviting" them to dinner parties because the couple make a point of sitting together at events --even if their host has seated them separately. They also don't like the fact that Meghan is openly affectionate with the Prince during dinner --in other words, too much PDA.
