See ya: CBS News reports that Three Mile Island Unit 1 was shut down for good on Friday. The plant, which was the site of the country's worst nuclear accident, had been losing money for years and the state legislature would not pass a $500 million bailout to keep it open.
"Star Trek: Deep Space Nine" actor ARON EISENBERG, who played Nog on all seven seasons of the series, died Saturday. He was 50.
Not every wedding proposal ends well. STEVEN WEBER and his girlfriend, KENESHA ANTOINE, were on a vacation from their homes in Baton Rouge, LA, at an island resort in Tanzania when he popped the question in a unique way --with Kenesha in their underwater room at the resort, he went into the water outside and held up a handwritten note to their bedroom window in a waterproof bag. It read "I can't hold my breath long enough to tell you everything I love about you but everything I love about you I love more every day." Then, he flipped the note so she could read the other side, which read, "Will you please be my wife. Marry me?" Then, he held up a ring and swam up towards the surface.
Kenesha filmed the whole thing, but when she went up to see him, she reportedly found him floating in the water and had to flag down some boaters to recover his body. They tried to resuscitate him, but were unable to bring him back with CPR. There's been no word on what happened, but Kenesha filmed the proposal and posted it says on her Facebook page, with the comment "You never emerged from those depths, so you never got to hear my answer, Yes! Yes! A million times, yes, I will marry you!!"Tomorrow morning (Tue Sep 24) TERRENCE HOWARD is getting a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame at 11:30 am (Pacific) in front of El Centro, right near the famous corner of Hollywood & Vine. Coincidentally, Terrence's show, "Empire," will be debuting for its sixth and final season on FOX Tuesday night. Terrence's star will also be right next to his "Empire" co-star TARAJI P. HENSON's star as well.
The other day I spent some quality time with a high school principal, who told me that kids don't use lockers anymore --they carry everything in their backpacks and just put 'em under their seats in the classroom. Maybe that changes when you have to wear a coat, but it brings up an interesting show topic --what didja do (or use) in high school that your kids no longer do??? -
