Amazon has announced that they'll be having celebrity voices for your Alexa assistant --and the first one will be Oscar-nominated actor SAMUEL L. JACKSON. And --there will reportedly be both an explicit (four-letter words and all) version and a clean version when the feature launches later this year.
There are some limits to what he can do as the voice of Alexa, however --Amazon sources say he won't be able to help you "with shopping, lists, reminders or skills." And you'll have to fork over some money to get his voice --99 cents as an introductory offer; then after that period, $4.99.Look for both SHAKIRA and JENNIFER LOPEZ as the stars of this year's Super Bowl half-time show. The NFL made the announcement yesterday (Thursday) afternoon, followed by announcements by the stars on their social media pages. The show will reportedly be produced by Roc Nation, which is headed up by SHAWN "Jay Z" CARTER.
Whoops! Everybody was applauding the folks in Fremont, CA, which picked up several Tesla Model S customized police cars, capitalizing on the electric vehicles. Unfortunately, last week when one of them attempted to run down another vehicle in a high speed chase at speeds of more than 100 miles an hour, the Tesla ran out of juice after eight minutes....
The California Highway Patrol was able to find the suspect car later, but the driver and anyone else who might have been in the car during the chase were gone.
On the bright side, it's the second chase the department's Tesla has been involved in, and in the other one, the suspect --who stole the car-- was apprehended. So the department is one-for-two so far.
