You might have heard that ROBERT EVANS died yesterday at 89. He was a producer and studio exec who was responsible for a number of landmark films, including
--"Chinatown,"
--"The Godfather,"
--"The Cotton Club,"
--"Urban Cowboy,"
--"Rosemary's Baby,"
--"Love Story."
He also had a flop or two, including 1980's "Popeye." But all in all, he was a pretty glamorous guy, who had seven wives, including ALI McGRAW, who married him in 1969 before ditching him for STEVE McQUEEN.As long as we're on the subject of movies, the premiere of the latest "Terminator" movie, "Terminator: Dark Fate," was cancelled last night in Hollywood, because of the ongoing problems with fires in the area. The movie opens nationwide this Friday.
Later in November, the updated "Charlie's Angels" is scheduled to debut. It stars KRISTEN STEWART, NAOMI SCOTT and ELLA BALINSKA as the Angels. PATRICK STEWART, director ELIZABETH BANKS and DJIMON HOUNSOU are all listed as playing "Bosley," which is a plot twist on the original. The plot summary says "With the world's smartest, bravest, and most highly trained women all over the globe, there are now teams of Angels guided by multiple Bosleys taking on the toughest jobs everywhere." But of course, there's no actor listed as playing the mysterious Charles Townshend.
If you're a "Jeopardy" fan, you know JAMES HOLZHAUER was the big winner for weeks on the game show, setting a new record. And he'll be back next month on the show's "Tournament of Champions." Former winner KEN JENNINGS will not be taking part in the tournament, although EMMA BOETTCHER, who was the woman who ended Holzhauer's streak, will. The tournament begins Wednesday, November 6th.
