Music news: Apple has picked up the rights to the "BEASTIE BOYS Story," a documentary about the guys being done by director SPIKE JONZE. The film will reportedly have interviews with the two remaining guys from the group, MIKE D and AD-ROCK, as well as footage from the past and a current stage show.
More music: The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame announced their upcoming additions who'll be inducted into the hall this year. They include WHITNEY HOUSTON, THE NOTORIOUS B.I.G., NINE INCH NAILS and THE DOOBIE BROTHERS, as well as British acts T. REX and DEPECHE MODE.
Who missed the cut? THIN LIZZY, MOTORHEAD and JUDAS PRIEST.
The 35th Annual Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, will take place Sat, May 02, at Public Auditorium in Cleveland, OH. The ceremony will also be broadcast live for the first time on HBO that night at 8 p.m. (Eastern).Amazon has picked up a new series about JACK REACHER, the lead character in a series of LEE CHILD BOOKS. The first season will be based on the first novel, "The Killing Floor." And there are 24 others in the series, the last one, "Blue Moon," published last year.
More TV: Look out! Investigative novelist and writer RONAN FARROW has announced the subject of his first film for HBO. It'll be something he's probably quite familiar with after his exposes on HARVEY WEINSTEIN, TV exec LES MOONVES, and Supreme Court of the United States Associate Justice BRETT KAVANAUGH --the film will be a documentary on threats, intimidation and violence that journalists have gotten while working on various projects.
