Looks like we may have a baseball season after all this year --Korean baseball. ESPN has announced it's struck a deal to televise six Korea Baseball Organization games a week so you won't have to give up the entire season. In the Korean baseball games, they've banned handshakes and spitting, but in the first game yesterday, you could see fist bumps, high-fives and pats on the back.
U.S. drugmaker Pfizer and Germany's BioNTech say they are delivering doses of their experimental coronavirus vaccines for initial human testing in the US. The big deal here is that if it proves to be safe and effective in these trials, it could potentially be distributed in the U.S. by the end of the year.
Meanwhile, a little shock as the New York City subway system said yesterday they would close overnight for the first time in at least 50 years tonight and begin daily cleanings of the system's 472 stations. The stations would close from 1-5 AM each day, which also means they'll have to evict the city's homeless who sleep in the stations and on the nearly-empty trains. To help in this pursuit, the city has assigned more than 1,000 police officers.
Food deals: Subway has offered a buy one, get a free Footlong Sub for a limited time. To get in on the deal, you simply order any Footlong online or via the Subway App and you’ll be offered a second Footlong of equal or lesser value for free. In addition, thru May 10, for every Subway order of $15 or more through Postmates, Subway will donate a six-inch sub in honor of National Nurses Week and to support the nation’s hardworking healthcare workers.
Speaking of healthcare workers, today (May 6), Dunkin' Donuts (now just Dunkin') is honoring nurses and all healthcare professionals a free medium hot or iced coffee along with a free donut. No other purchase is necessary, but be prepared to show your credentials.
Finally, an interesting video from The Epoch Times which examines the possibility that Chinese scientists and researchers actually created the coronavirus... that it didn't originate in Wuhan, and instead was the culmination of various research projects.
