Sorry to hear that BONNIE POINTER has died. She was 69 years old. The Pointer Sisters won three Grammy Awards and have a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. You probably remember their biggest hits, "Jump (For My Love)" and "I'm So Excited."
The Hollywood Reporter says Bonnie's sister, Ruth, is the only sibling still performing in the Pointer Sisters, joined by her daughter and granddaughter.
Dunkin’ Donuts says they're planning to hire 25-thousand new employees --including management roles-- as they reopen their stores.
More good news: Macy’s --which also owns Bloomingdale's-- said yesterday it's raised a total of $4.5 billion as they attempt to reopen from the COVID-19 pandemic. The company also said it would be able to purchase new inventory as stores reopen and repay upcoming debts in fiscal 2020 and 2021.
Father's Day is coming up on the 21st and because of the coronavirus, it's possible you'll have to go that extra mile (like you did for Mom) to get dad a gift. And since restaurants are pretty much closed, most folks have decided to make it up in other ways. Like home improvement projects, for example. According to a National Retail Federation survey, on average, consumers plan to spend $149 on special gifts for dad, about $10 more than they spent last year. And many people are thinking tools, appliances or home improvement items for dad, or things that might help Dad give himself a haircut. The NRF also says people planning to give dad a personal care item for Father's Day is up 21 percent from last year. -
