The big news over the weekend --the Wall Street Journal claims Microsoft is working on a way to protect TikTok users from losing any data to China. Of course, PRESIDENT TRUMP said he would nix the deal if the Chinese company --ByteDance, that currently runs TikTok-- has any part, even a minor one, in the service. This would mean Microsoft would have to buy TikTok and probably let another US company run it. We'll see if that happens.
Ain't gonna happen: Executive producer ANDY LASSNER used social media to deny anything would happen to ELLEN DeGENERES' show despite those multiple rumors of a toxic workplace on her show. “Nobody is going off the air,” he said.
He's back: JEAN-CLAUDE VAN DAMME --also known as "The Muscles from Brussels"-- is shooting a new film for Netflix. Called "The Last Mercenary," Jean-Claude will reportedly play a mysterious former secret service agent who must urgently return to the country when his estranged son is falsely accused of arms and drug trafficking by the government.
Cool: There'll be a bunch of JOAN RIVERS comedy albums coming next year. Comedy Dynamics reportedly bought hundreds of hours of content from the Joan Rivers Estate, and plan to release a box set and digital albums as well.
If you saw the GO-GO’s documentary on Showtime Friday night, you'll be glad to hear that the band has released “Club Zero,” which they performed at LA's Whisky a Go Go for the special. It's their first new song in 19 years.
Movies are open to the public in England, despite the coronavirus, and the government just announced that anyone heading to the movies --as well as museums, galleries and places of worship-- will have to don a face mask starting August 08th. The country is attempting to hold back an anticipated second wave of Covid-19 infections, as they just announced another 846 new cases, the highest number since June, on Friday.
Sad news for Dunkin' Donut fans --the company said Friday they are closing around 800 locations by the end of the year --more than half of them at Speedway locations around the country. However, the company says the closings would only account for two percent of its sales in the past year.
