Ain't gonna happen: That lawsuit over LED ZEPPELIN’s “Stairway to Heaven” is finally over. The band was sued for copyright infringement back in 2014, claiming that the guys stole the opening riff from SPIRIT's song, “Taurus.” Led Zeppelin won the case in 2016, but then it was appealed in 2018. Afterward, a court of appeals upheld the original verdict earlier this year, and when the appeal was taken all the way to the Supreme Court, the judges declined to hear the case. That result means it's over and Led Zeppelin has won.
There's a new movie in the works at New Line Cinema called “Super High.” If the title doesn't give you a clue --the plot line is about people who can gain super powers by smoking a special strain of marijuana!!! CRAIG ROBINSON, ANDY SAMBERG and COMMON are producing and starring in what's being called an “action-comedy.”
MILEY CYRUS will be doing “MTV Unplugged” Friday, October 16th, from her Los Angeles home. Word is she'll be doing an original cover of BRITNEY SPEARS song, “Gimme More,” along with some of her own songs and other songs originally by PEARL JAM, THE CARDIGANS and others.
Look out --DOLLY PARTON is reportedly asking the folks at Playboy magazine to make her the cover girl for her 75th birthday coming up in January. Dolly also was on the cover of the magazine back in 1978, but did not appear butt-nekkid inside the issue. And Dolly says the new cover shot will have to be “in good taste.” Right.
Get your youngster a new Barbie doll! The folks at the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle tell us that Mattel is putting out a SUSAN B. ANTHONY Barbie for the 200th anniversary of her birth. Mattel reportedly contacted Rochester’s National Susan B. Anthony Museum & House nearly two years ago to get details on the icon, as a way to add another legendary Barbie --like they've already done with legendary NASA mathematician KATHERINE JOHNSON, pioneering aviator AMELIA EARHART and Mexican painter FRIDA KAHLO. You can order one at the Mattel website and at Target.com for $29.99 --or from the Museum for a tax-deductible donation of $200, which will get you the Barbie, a bunch of accessories, and several other keepsake items.
