Fast food: Today's the day (Wednesday) that McDonald’s is bringing back their McRib sandwich for the first time since 2012. It's a seasoned boneless pork patty on a hoagie style bun covered with barbecue sauce, topped with slivered onions and tart pickles. In case you're wondering, it's 480 calories and 890 mg of sodium and 45 grams of carbs. Enjoy.
Tube news: It'll be AMANDA KLOOTS and ELAINE WELTEROTH who'll be replacing MARIE OSMOND and EVE on CBS-TV’s "The Talk" as new co-hosts. Regular viewers may have already seen them as they guest-hosted on several episodes earlier this year. They'll join the regular hosts SHARON OSBOURNE, SHERYL UNDERWOOD and CARRIE ANN INABA. Kloots is a former Broadway dancer and Radio City Rockette turned entrepreneur and celebrity trainer, while Welteroth is a New York Times writer, a producer and judge for Project Runway, former editor-in-chief of Teen Vogue, as well as former editors at Glamour and Ebony magazines.
Ain't gonna happen: Although residents of Vancouver, BC, have put up a petition on Change.org calling for a street to be named after movie star (and hometown boy) RYAN REYNOLDS, CNN reports Ryan isn't having any. "Very kind but hard pass," he tweeted. "If traffic sucks everyone will say, "Ryan Reynolds is a mess" or "Ryan Reynolds is really backed up." My brothers would enjoy this too much."
Not a surprise: A Chinese real estate company called China Bloom has purchased an Australian island and has blocked its Australian residents from going back to their homes. The developer has also reportedly banned Keswick Island residents from renting their homes on Airbnb as well, which the folks living there claim has ruined their tourism business.
Not a surprise #2: The NY Times reports masks are encouraged, but not required at the White House’s holiday parties. There's more than 20 of them planned before Christmas, and some of the attendees joked that since so many people in the president’s circle have already tested positive for the virus, the White House has apparently achieved herd immunity and is now a safe spot to view the Christmas decorations.
Casting call: Netflix has created a new comedy series about a couple of tech support folks played by MELISSA McCARTHY and BEN FALCONE. They fall in love while working, but Ben's character becomes the unwitting messenger of God... and has to save the world with his new love.
Casting call #2: Variety sez it'll be PETER DINKLAGE starring in a new version of “The Toxic Avenger.” For those of you who haven't seen the film, a guy gets pushed into a vat of toxic waste, and instead of killing him, becomes "Toxie," the superhero. Dinklage --who's won four Primetime Emmys and a Golden Globe in his role on "Game of Thrones," will be playing Toxie.
Lawsuit of the day: TMZ reports "Jersey Shore" stars SNOOKI and DEENA are being sued by New York's "The Meatball Shop," claiming the pair has been selling shirts and hoodies on the Internet with their trademarks on 'em. As fans of the show know, the pair called themselves "The Meatballs" on "Jersey Shore," hence the items tagged with those names... and apparently the restaurants logos.
