Greetings from Sandy Hook, NJ: The NY Daily News and TMZ are reporting BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN got popped for DWI and reckless driving by New Jersey cops on Nov 14th of last year at Gateway National Recreation area in Sandy Hook, NJ. It’s apparently Bruce’s first ever ticket of that kind and he has a court date coming up. I love Bruce, but you gotta wonder if the guys at Jeep had known about it, whether they’d have gotten another celebrity to do the Super Bowl commercial...
COVID update: Yesterday the CDC finally updated their idea of mask protection, asking people to wear either TWO masks at a time, or one well-fitting mask. The two-mask mandate would involve wearing a cloth mask over a disposable surgical mask, or a single mask which has a nose wire which can be adjusted for a snug fit. The CDC says it doesn't recommend wearing two disposable masks at the same time.
It's finally happened --the folks at Aunt Jemima have changed their name to Pearl Milling Company. As you may recall, eight months ago they said they were going to change the name because it was "based on a racial stereotype." The new name refers to the original mill that began producing the self-rising pancake mix in 1889 and the rebranded products will be in stores starting this June. Also coming: "Uncle Ben's Rice" has also been renamed by Mars Food and it'll be called "Ben's Original Rice."
Fox News has decided to move the GREG GUTFELD show from Saturdays at 10 pm to weeknights at 11 pm (Eastern), putting it up against JIMMY KIMMEL, STEPHEN COLBERT and JIMMY FALLON. Gutfeld is expected to begin his weeknight show beginning in the second quarter of this year, and it will be followed by Fox News at midnight.
Weird news: The Krispy Kreme donut store on Ponce de Leon Avenue in midtown Atlanta caught on fire early yesterday (Wednesday) morning around 1 am... making the donuts REALLY crispy. The location is owned by SHAQUILLE O'NEAL, who bought the store in 2016. It's been at the same location in Atlanta for more than 60 years.
