Lotsa stuff happening: The folks at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame have moved the 2021 induction ceremony from its traditional place in the Spring or early Summer to the day before Halloween --October 30th of this year. And it'll be held for the first time at Cleveland's Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse, which is a bigger venue to make health and safety a priority. You can still vote for your favorites online at rockhall.com through April 30; this year's inductees will be announced in May.
Tube talk: FOX News has picked up former Trump White House Press Secretary, KAYLEIGH McENANY, as a contributor. She's not the first former Trump staffer to join Fox News --former Press Secretary SARAH HUCKABEE SANDERS became a contributor in 2019, and LARRY KUDLOW, a former Trump economic advisor, now anchors an hour on the Fox Business Network.
More TV News: BILL NYE, "The Science Guy," is doing a new science series at The Peacock streaming service along with SETH MacFARLANE. Called “The End Is Nye,” (Get it???) it's supposed to delve into various global disasters --both natural and unnatural-- and then tell viewers how they could survive them --and maybe even prevent them.
The Disney-plus streaming network is doing a new "Star Wars" series called "Obi-Wan Kenobi," starring INDIRA VARMA, EWAN McGREGOR and HAYDEN CHRISTENSEN. No word on who Indira will be playing, but Ewan will reportedly a Jedi Master and Hayden as Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader. The series will take place 10 years after the events portrayed in the film, "Revenge of the Sith."
She's ba-a-a-ack: TMZ.com reports SNOOKI could be returning to MTV's "Jersey Shore" series --despite the fact she'd said she was done with the show back in December 2019. Now, a bit more than a year later, she might have been picked up for a spin-off series, but we won't know for a bit. TMZ sez ANGELINA was also spotted having lunch with Snooks, and says they might co-star in the new series.
Like you really care at this point: The Emmy Awards will be broadcast on CBS this year, with the ceremonies coming on Sunday, September 19. No word on who'll host or where the ceremonies will be held with the coronavirus going on, but for the past several years, they've been held at the Microsoft Theater in downtown Los Angeles.
The folks who publish DR. SEUSS books say they're dropping six of them because of racially insensitive imagery. The six books include:
--"If I Ran the Zoo,"
--"Scrambled Eggs Super,"
--"McElligot's Pool,"
--"On Beyond Zebra!"
--"And To Think That I Saw It On Mulberry Street," and
--"The Cat's Quizzer."
By way of explanation, Dr Seuss Enterprises said "These books portray people in ways that are hurtful and wrong."As an example, they cited "In And To Think That I Saw It On Mulberry Street," a character described as Chinese has two lines for eyes, carries chopsticks and a bowl of rice, and wears traditional Japanese-style shoes. In "If I Ran the Zoo," there are two men from Africa seen as shirtless, shoeless and wearing grass skirts as they carry an exotic animal.
Gotta love DR. OZ, who helped save a 60-year-old man's life who collapsed at Newark Airport. Dr. Oz, who's 60, happened to be picking up his luggage in the baggage claim area when the man collapsed, and then did CPR and cleared the guy's airway with the help of a Newark Port Authority police officer and a defibrillator (which, being a doctor, he knew how to use). As Dr. Oz put it, "As a physician and a human being, it’s our responsibility to jump in when there’s a medical emergency. Another critical reminder of how important it is to take the time to learn how to do CPR and use a defibrillator. You could save a life."
Another nice note to wrap things up: "Wonder Woman" star GAL GADOT took some quality time yesterday to announce that she's pregnant with her third child. Back in 2017, Gal talked about what the experience of giving birth was like for her: "It's cheesy, but I feel like Wonder Woman when I give birth. When you deliver, you feel like you're a god. Like, 'Oh my God, I made this.' The best thing is to become a mother and to give life."
