Good news: The CDC released a memo yesterday saying that people who've had their full vaccination dose can get together without masks or social distancing about two weeks after their final shot.
It's Bike Week in Daytona Beach, where they're expecting around 300-thousand motorcyclists for the week, which lasts until March 14th. Yes, there's a pandemic going on, but the city council decided to go ahead with the week this year and spread the events out through North and central Florida. And some places are down to (gasp!) only a 60% indoor capacity! (Yes, I'm being sarcastic). However, Florida does not have a statewide mask mandate.
Meanwhile, while we're on the Bike Week topic, the guy known as the Naked Cowboy --usually seen in Times Square-- was arrested over the weekend in Daytona Beach on a misdemeanor panhandling charge. Turns out ROBERT BURCK was arrested Saturday while performing, after cops spotted people tucking dollar bills into his guitar after taking photographs. The reason for the photographs --Burck, who's 51 years old, wears just a pair of white briefs, boots and a cowboy hat while he's entertaining on the street. If you're really curious, you can see him on his Facebook page, "The Naked Cowboy."
Noticed gas prices getting higher? That's because the price of a barrel of oil hit $66 bucks yesterday (and earlier this week). Hasn't been that high since April of 2019. Gas cost $2.71 a gallon on average as of Monday. The highest average price was $3.59 in Los Angeles, while the lowest was $2.33 in Houston.
Maybe you don't wanna live on Mars, but living next to a spaceport could be exciting. Tesla CEO ELON MUSK says he wants to create a new city around the small town of Boca Chica, Texas. The bonus to getting a place there is that Elon's company, SpaceX, already has a private launch site and rocket production facility there, and Elon says he's gonna rename it Starbase, Texas. No word on how much a lot would cost there.
Fast food dep't: The guys at Jack in the Box are bringing back fresh-made Donut Holes for a limited time. The holes are little bite-sized round donut holes and served hot with a cinnamon sugar coating. Suggested price is four for a buck.
