Good news for you folks struggling to finish your income taxes --the IRS is planning to move its regular April 15th tax filing deadline back a month --until May 17, according to Bloomberg News. Part of the problem was the fact that Americans are backlogged with work; part of the problem is that the IRS is also back-logged with paper returns from last year because of the pandemic, which caused them to move workers dealing with paper tax returns.
Tragedy for DEMI LOVATO, who says she was raped as a teenager while she was working for the Disney Channel. Demi, now 28 years old, talked about the incident in her documentary, "Demi Lovato: Dancing with the Devil," which was shown at the South by Southwest virtual film festival. She doesn't say who the person was, but says that person faced no consequences after she came forward, and that she "had to see this person all the time" afterwards. She says she coped through self-harm, and going through the eating disorder bulimia.
The folks at Disney say they'll reopen Disneyland beginning April 30th, although they'll conform to state requirements by limiting the theme park's capacity. And more good news --the new "Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance," the "Incredicoaster" and "Peter Pan’s Flight" will all reopen, as well as the new "Snow White’s Enchanted Wish" attraction in Fantasyland for the first time.
Renewed: DREW BARRYMORE’s daytime talk show has been picked up for a second season. “We launched this show in a pandemic (last September), which made for a crazy, wonderful journey I never expected,” she said. “This is my dream job."
More TV News: Variety reports ELLEN DeGENERES has signed a multi-year deal with Discovery to develop and produce a slate of natural history content for both the Discovery Channel and Discovery Plus.
Movie news: DreamWorks and Universal new say the sequel to the 2011 animated film, “Puss in Boots,” starring ANTONIO BANDERAS, is now set to be in theatres by September of next year (2022). Antonio will be once again voicing Puss, who was originally a character in the “Shrek” films. The new film --“Puss in Boots: The Last Wish” will reportedly have Puss looking for a way to get back eight of his nine lives, which he's burned through.
More movies: RYAN GOSLING will be playing a rogue CIA assassin on the run for the upcoming Netflix spy thriller “The Gray Man.” Filming is currently taking place in Prague, along with co-stars CHRIS EVANS and JESSICA HENWICK, DHANUSH, JULIA BUTTERS, BILLY BOB THORNTON and ALFRE WOODARD.
Ready for a cruise? Are you vaccinated? CNN says the British cruise line P&O Cruises --owned by Carnival Cruise Lines-- will be offering "cruises to nowhere" for vaccinated British travelers this summer. Two other cruise lines --England's Saga Lines and the US' Crystal Cruises are already requiring passengers be vaccinated before they board as well. And other cruise lines will also be asking passengers to be vaccinated as well, including Royal Caribbean and Norwegian Cruise Line.
