If you really want to get into politics, just ask the Question of the day: Were the folks at Facebook's Oversight Board correct in continuing DONALD TRUMP's ban from Facebook and Instagram? As you probably know, the former president was banned from both sites in January following the Capitol Hill riots. But... if you still wanna hear what the Trumpster has to say you can go to a brand new website (www.donaldjtrump.com) he launched yesterday to update his believers with his daily thoughts... and to raise money.
Show biz: Look for ELIZABETH OLSEN in a new HBO Max limited series called “Love and Death.” Variety reports DAVID E. KELLEY is writing and one of the executive producers along with NICOLE KIDMAN. The series is based on the true story of Texas housewife CANDY MONTGOMERY, who murdered her friend from church, BETTY GORE, with an axe back in 1980. Interestingly, there's also another series about the murder being made for Hulu, starring ELIZABETH MOSS as Candy. We'll see which one hits the tube first.
May the Fourth is over, but interestingly, the National Air and Space Museum in Washington, DC, just announced that beginning late next year, they'll have an X-wing fighter from “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” on display in their newly renovated building, which already has a number of significant planes and spaceships (like JOHN GLENN's Friendship 7 capsule).
Get ready to Run for your lives: Speaking of rocket ships, Time magazine reports that the core stage of China’s Long March 5B rocket --which weighs around 21 metric tons-- is tumbling through low Earth orbit and should reenter the atmosphere sometime on May 8th --give or take a day or two. Nobody really knows where it'll land --but hopefully in an unpopulated area. The U.S. Space Command is tracking the large piece of junk, but won't know where it's fall “until within hours of its reentry, which is expected around May 8.”
Looks like they've found the spot where famed Chicago gangster JIMMY HOFFA has been buried. FOX News reports he's under a hole at an exclusive golf course of a Country Club-slash-resort in Savannah, Georgia. They took the word from REGINALD HAUPT, Jr., who's a former criminal defense lawyer and claims that a bunch of the Chicago mobsters and crime families would vacation there and one of their gangster buddies ran the place.
Warning: note content: Haupt also claimed that when the mobsters came to play 18 on the course, when they got to the specific hole where Hoffa's body supposedly was, they'd urinate on the green --where he was laid to rest.
FYI: There is also apparently a rumor that Hoffa's body was interred next to a toxic waste dump in Jersey City, New Jersey.
Fast (and free) food: Today (May 6th) is National Nurses Day, and Dunkin’ Donuts (now just Dunkin') is offering all healthcare workers a free medium hot or iced coffee to show their appreciation. You'll need to show a valid ID for a free medium hot or iced coffee, no purchase necessary --while supplies last-- at participating locations.
