Good news from Atlantic City, where people are coming back to the casinos and... losing money. The New Jersey casinos racked up their best first quarter profits ever, according to figures from the American Gaming Association. That would be $11.1 billion dollars, in case you're interested.
Other places are re-opening too, including the Smithsonian’s National Zoo in Washington, D.C., which is passing out a limited number of passes to visitors which you can reserve beginning at 12:01 a.m. Friday. Those will get you admission to the Zoo beginning next Friday, May 21st.
And if that wasn't enough, Broadway is re-opening as well, with the musicals "Hamilton," "Wicked" and "The Lion King" re-starting September 14th. And for those of you who love MICHAEL JACKSON songs, the new musical about his life, called "MJ," will begin performances at the Neil Simon Theatre on December 6th, with the opening scheduled for February 1st of next year. Tickets go on sale beginning next Tuesday, May 18 at 10 am (Eastern), although some people already picked theirs up before the pandemic hit.
She's ba-a-a-a-ack! Entertainment Weekly reports NICOLE "SNOOKI" POLIZZI will be back for the upcoming season of "Jersey Shore Family Vacation" starting in June.
And for you people who love UFOs and crave a trip to Roswell or some other ET site out West, you'll wanna get a load of DEMI LOVATO's new TV series. She'll be doing a four-part "docuseries" on Peacock, called "Unidentified With Demi Lovato." Demi, her friend MATTHEW and her sister DALLAS, will be touring UFO hot spots out west and enlightening us with secret government reports. No word on the start date for the series, since they're still "investigating."
Fast food: Starbucks is debuting their new summer lineup, beginning with an inventive "Strawberry Funnel Cake Frappuccino." The coffee is also bringing back their Unicorn Cake Pop as well, both for a limited time, while supplies last.
And for your upcoming graduate: Baskin-Robbins is putting out new graduation cakes for the kids, including a new "School Spirit Cake," decorated with your school colors and more. They can even put a personalized photo of your graduate on top as well. There's also a "Diploma Roll Cake," all decorated and wrapped up like a diploma. Check your local Baskin-Robbins to see one.
