The Memorial Day weekend is here, and if you're driving somewhere, be forewarned --the gas prices are the highest they've been in seven years! A gallon of regular averages $3.03 across the country (but it may be a bit higher or lower where you are), and experts say you can expect the prices to stay there for the rest of the summer if you're headed for a vacation and driving. As for this weekend, Triple-A says they think around 37 million Americans will be traveling somewhere, thanks to a bit of relief from the pandemic.
TMI: EMMA THOMPSON says she didn't like wearing underwear while filming her new movie, "Cruella." The NY Post's Page Six reports Emma said wearing underwear with her costumes was “torture” during a recent appearance on Lorraine. “I stopped wearing underwear a long time ago. It’s not my scene” she said. “I find comfortable underwear uncomfortable.” She compared the feeling of wearing underwear to squeezing a tube of toothpaste: “If you squeeze it hard enough, things will come up and go down and make the shapes,” she said. “But it’s like you’re dealing with a Plasticine person.”
SHANIA TWAIN is looking forward to her upcoming Las Vegas residency at Planet Hollywood. "...Everybody’s there to party and that’s what I’m there to do," she said. "My show starts in December so I’m going to do something special for the holiday spirit," and then she’ll be hosting a "very romantic" Valentine’s Day show next February as well. "I’m there ‘to party’"
A bunch of theatres are re-opening this weekend, but of course there's still social distancing and and safety precautions against the ongoing pandemic. This weekend, the EMMA STONE film "Cruella" and long-delayed "A Quiet Place: Part II" will be opening along with the R-rated drama "Port Authority" and "The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It." By the way: AMC theatres have blocked off their butter dispensers and soda machines because of COVID but you can get the stuff via smartphone on their app. Other theatres still sell goodies, but without the public refills, etc. And they want you to wear your mask in the theatre (of course).
