Ever smoke one of those e-cigarettes because you believe they're safer than smoking a regular one? Now the folks at Juul will have to shell out $40-million dollars to settle a North Carolina lawsuit that claimed the vape pen people are marketing their products to teens. New commercials will have to use people over the age of 35.
Pretty cool: Italian authorities in Rome have opened up the basement of the famous Colosseum so tourists and locals can roam through the maze of underground passageways, rooms and cages from which gladiators and prisoners used to wait before emerging from trap doors into the 2,000-year-old arena. It's part of the Colosseum's restoration which has been going on since 2011.
How old should you be to give birth? Over in England, an 11-year-old girl delivered a baby! She's believed to be the youngest-ever mom to give birth in the United Kingdom. The London Sun says the pregnancy came as "a big shock" to the girl's family and social services and police are now investigating. Experts say because children are heavier at younger ages, the weight affects many hormones, and puberty happens earlier. No word, of course, on who the father might be...
Coolness: The Hollywood Reporter says there's a movie in the works about the STONE TEMPLE PILOTS’ lead singer SCOTT WEILAND, who passed away back in 2015, when he was 48. No word on who might play Scott in the film and what part the Pilots might play in the film.
Gerber foods has rolled out a brand-new baby. Four-month-old ZANE KAHIN got the news Monday morning on the "Today" show from their home in Winter Park, Florida. Zane was picked out of more than 90-thousand photo submissions to Gerber, and will pick up a $25-thousand dollar cash prize and free Gerber products for up to a year.
PS: The original Gerber baby, ANN TURNER COOK, turned 94 this past November.
Fast food: Krispy Kreme is rolling out some red-white-and-blue donuts for the Fourth of July. Participating locations are offering 20 red, white and blue Fourth of July mini flag doughnuts in a special star-spangled box, as well as individual donuts decorated in holiday icing along with sprinkles and stars through July 4th.
More fast food: There could be a Fritos Outlaw Pizza in your future. The folks at Papa Murphy’s have joined with Fritos and put together a new pizza beginning June 28th. So you get a thin-crust BBQ pizza with crunchy Fritos corn chips which you can bake in your oven. Pick it up at any Papa Murphy's store near you.
