Not liking it: singer ALANIS MORISSETTE apparently doesn't like that brand-new documentary about her life, called “Jagged,” which premiered Tuesday at the Toronto International Film Festival. “This was not the story I agreed to tell,” she said after watching it, and added that she was “interviewed during a very vulnerable time (while in the midst of my third postpartum depression during lockdown).” Sources say the part she doesn't like probably refers to her being sexually taken advantage of by unnamed figures in the music industry when she was a teenager.
Another bad stunt that people are imitating on TikTok: a nine-year-old boy from the United Kingdom nearly died after swallowing six magnets. The stunt he was trying to imitate has kids claiming they have a pierced tongue placing round Magneto balls on the tops and bottoms of their tongue. Unfortunately, he swallowed the magnets and had to be taken to the hospital after he began vomiting and experiencing extreme abdominal pain. At the hospital, his mother was told he might not pull through due to the damage caused by the magnets sticking together through the intestinal wall. He had to go thru a four-hour operation in which his appendix, small intestine and 12 inches of his large intestine had to be removed, and although he survived, he's now on a liquid diet.
Tube talk: WENDY WILLIAMS has been diagnosed with a “breakthrough case of COVID-19” and has had to postpone the start of the 13th season of her talk show while she recovers. The news was posted on the Instagram account of her talk show. Interestingly, she told Dr. OZ in March that she was hesitant to get her vaccination for COVID-19, but the NY Post's Page Six reports she did get the vaccination after being skeptical about getting the shot. The new debut of the 13th season will now be Monday, October fourth, according to the Instagram post.
REBA McENTIRE is reportedly OK after a staircase collapsed while she and her boyfriend, REX LINN, and seven others were touring a historic building in Atoka, Oklahoma. Reba had to be helped out of a second-story window onto a ladder by firefighters. Fortunately, none of them were seriously injured in the collapse.
Superstar gymnast SIMONE BILES spent some quality time yesterday testifying before Congress about how the U.S. justice system failed to stop former USA Gymnastics doctor LARRY NASSAR from sexually abusing her and others. She said "... To be clear, I blame Larry Nassar and I also blame an entire system that enabled and perpetrated his abuse." Nasser was sentenced to 60 years in federal prison, and then received multiple sentences of 40 to 175 years in Michigan State prison, which are concurrent with his federal sentence. Interestingly, on the same day she testified before Congress, she was also named one of Time magazine's most influential people of 2021.
