Movie update: Kids may wanna see the new "Clifford the Big Red Dog" movie out this weekend. You can also see it on Paramount+ if you don't want to take your unvaccinated child under 12 to the theatre.
However, "Eternals" is projected to be the big winner at theatres this weekend.
Legal briefs: ADAM ABDUL-JABBAR, KAREEM's son, got 180 days behind bars yesterday for stabbing his Southern California neighbor, 60-year-old RAYMOND WINDSOR, with a hunting knife. The pair were arguing about trash cans when Adam reportedly pulled out the knife and stabbed Ray so violently over and over that his skull was fractured. Afterward, Adam reportedly called 911 right away and cooperated fully with law enforcement. He agreed to plead guilty in court for two years probation and 180 days of house arrest in order to "move on with his life."
Lawsuit of the day: If a complaint filed in the U.S. District Court in California turns out to be true, you might not wanna order a tuna salad sandwich at Subway. That's because the lawsuit says 19 of 20 tuna samples from various Subway stores in Southern California contained animal protein including chicken, pork or cattle, but no discernible tuna DNA. Subway says the suit is "meritless" and says the fish is "high-quality, wild-caught, 100% tuna." It's not the first time a lawsuit has been filed against the fast food chain. Back in 2017, an appeals court tossed out a class-action settlement over claims that their "footlong subs" were an inch short of the advertised length.
Fast food, take two: Meanwhile, nearly 100-thousand pounds of Trader Joe's chicken has been recalled due to possible bone contamination. The recall includes Trader Joe’s Chile Lime Chicken Burgers and Spinach Feta Chicken Sliders, although there have been no cases reported to the USDA's Food Safety and Inspection Service.
Today --Friday-- is the day BRITNEY SPEARS' lawyers will be back in court to argue her request to terminate the conservatorship that has controlled her career and finances for nearly 14 years. "My dad may have started the conservatorship but what people don't know is that it is my mom who gave him the idea," she added in a now-deleted caption. "I will never get those years back" she wrote on Instagram. "I haven't prayed for something more in my life."
One more fast food item: The holidays are coming and Häagen-Dazs is celebrating by bringing back Peppermint Bark ice cream. In addition to 14-oz cartons available in stores nationwide, the variety will also come in Ice Cream Bars and Cookie Squares at select stores. For a 3/4 cup serving, it's 360 calories. You're welcome.
