Sorry to hear Sally Kellerman, who most famous role was probably playing “Hot Lips” Houlihan in the 1970 film, “M*A*S*H,” died over the weekend. She was 84. She picked up Oscar and Golden Globe nominations for the role. Among her other roles was as Dr Elizabeth Dehner on the second TV pilot for “Star Trek.” William Shatner tweeted that he was "sending condolences to the family of Sally Kellerman.”
FYI: When “M*A*S*H” moved from the movies to TV however, Loretta Swit took over the role of “Hot Lips.”
Congrats to TOM HOLLAND, who once again had two movies in the top-three over the weekend —“Uncharted,” which was number one for the second weekend with $23.2 million and "Spider-Man: No Way Home" in third place with $5.7 million. In second place, Channing Tatum’s movie, “Dog,” picked up $10.1 million in its second week.
The guys from the band Green Day have canceled their upcoming concert at Moscow’s Spartak Stadium because of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. They posted the news on their Instagram account, saying “We are aware that this moment is not about stadium rock shows, it’s so much bigger than that. But we also know that rock and roll is forever and we feel confident there will be a time and a place for us to return in the future.”
While we’re talking about the Ukraine invasion by Russia, actors Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds said on Twitter they are promising to match every donation up to $1 million for refugees fleeing war in the country.
Steven Spielberg will be doing a new movie based on the 1960s movie, “Bullitt.” The film will not be a remake, rather it will be a new story featuring San Francisco police detective Frank Bullitt as the main character. In the 60s movie, Steve McQueen played Bullitt, and apparently held the rights to the character, which Spielberg has acquired. Variety reports McQueen’s son, Chad McQueen, and his granddaughter, Molly McQueen, are also attached to executive produce the new film.
Memphis rapper Snootie Wild —real name LePreston Porter— died after being shot in Houston Friday. Texas cops say he apparently backed into a ditch in an SUV, after which another vehicle pulled up, folks got out and after talking to him, shot him in the neck. He was found by police around two in the afternoon, taken to a hospital but died later.
Back again —NBC has picked up another season —the 21st— of "Law & Order.” The show originally ended back in 2010, but has been renewed with Anthony Anderson back as Detective Kevin Bernard, along with Sam Waterston as District Attorney Jack McCoy. The show also will air on Peacock and Hulu as well. The first show of the new season aired this past Thursday, and picked up the third-largest audience —5.5 million— of the night.
Finally, some sad news —a guy in Houston has been arrested after he attacked two fast food employees because there wasn't enough barbecue sauce in his to-go order. Andre Thomas left Dickey’s BBQ Pit with his order but called the restaurant in the parking lot to complain, and reportedly said, “I’ll come back and shoot up the place.” Then, he waited for the employees to leave, followed the workers down the road and shot into their car. One of the victims was reportedly hit five times, the other guy was not shot, according to police.
