A new study finds that letting your valuable vacation time go to waste could be bad for your health:
A research group called Take Back Your Time says vacations aren't a luxury but a necessity. According to their study, men who don't take vacations are a third more likely to suffer from heart disease and women are 50 percent more likely to suffer from heart disease.
459 million vacation days went unused last year. The top reasons, according to the group: Fear of being seen as a slacker; dreading coming back to a mountain of work, and; inability to afford a trip. (Maiman)Shopping Around:
A survey by Best Buy Mobile reveals consumers' knowledge and shopping habits around mobile plans, devices, technology and accessories. Among the findings:
--Nearly a quarter (23%) of mobile shoppers made their phone choice based on the device itself, more than two-thirds (67%) said their decision was based on carrier. Only 10% selected their phone based on the operating platform (e.g. Google's Android or Apple's iOS).
--45% look for multimedia capabilities on their phone, while 32% want GPS navigation; 26% want to access social networking sites, and 15% want to make eCommerce purchases directly from their phones.
--Nearly a third (29%) said they were looking to replace a landline phone.
More than half of American mobile phone owners are unaware of the month and year when their subscription contract expires. (Kaye)Chic Sh*t:

Stars and their movies:
Gotta love this one: former "Baywatch" actress PAMELA ANDERSON is doing a promotion with Nokia to plug their new N8 phone, which will be out Sep 30. For the promotion, a whole movie, called "The Commuter," is being shot with the phone, which has a 12 megapixel camera that is capable of HD video recording.
Filming will start on Sep 20 --a week from Monday-- and to mark the occasion, one lucky guy will win the chance to film a bedroom scene with Pamela on a Nokia hi-def phone camera.
For you ladies in the audience, there's also a chance to appear in a scene i8n an elevator with "Gossip Girl" star ED WESTWICK for the movie as well.
Details on both promotions are at starwithpam.com and starwithed.com.Grace notes:
The cast of GREEN DAY's Broadway musical, "American Idiot," will appear on tonight's edition of "America's Got Talent." They'll perform at least one of the songs from the show which is still doing big business at the St. James Theater, though Playbill.com says now that school is back in session, there may be more empty seats over the next few months. Survivor: real life:
A Boston-area woman is lucky to be alive after being attacked by a swarm of wasps.
The Boston Globe says the unidentified 53-year-old was found almost unconscious near her house over the weekend. Rescuers confirmed she was stung over 500-times by the yellow jackets. A spokesperson said, "We've had some minor stings and a handful of bees before, but nothing to that extent."
Firefighters were able to get most of the insects off of her by spraying them with a carbon dioxide fire extinguisher. But, there were so many wasps that a few were found still hiding in her clothing later that night at the emergency room. No word on her condition. (Still)
