Culture Shock:
Forget butts and boobs, a new study says that long arms on a woman are a real turn-on for many guys. That's the finding of researchers at the University of New South Wales in Australia.
Study volunteers were asked to watch videos of 96 Australian and Chinese women between the ages of 20 and 49 and then to rate each one according to her looks "Long-armed women" were consistently considered the most attractive by the test subjects. (Pacelli)Trash talk and satellite dish:
DAVID HASSELHOFF made a splash on the set of "Dancing With the Stars," but isn't the gregarious guy he pretends to be. One insider on the show dished to Us Weekly that his staff blew up the office phone lines wanting to change rehearsal times, canceling shoots and even suggesting camera angles. Word is the "Baywatch" star isn't the best conversationalist --apparently he talks non-stop but doesn't make much sense. (Lee)
On, off and way-off Broadway:
Look for MICHAEL CRAWFORD as "The Wizard of Oz" when a revival of the classic play opens in March at the London Palladium.
Crawford, who's now 68, is famous for originating the title role in "The Phantom of the Opera." And "Phantom's" creator, ANDREW LLOYD WEBBER, is also producing "The Wizard of Oz" as well, and has hired lyricist TIM RICE to add songs to the score.
The show opens previews Feb 07 before its March opening.Broadcast, cable and video news:
That BRITNEY SPEARS episode of "Glee" turned out to be even bigger than the show's season debut, pulling in 13.5 million viewers and drawing more people than even the MADONNA-themed episode. In fact, this past Monday's episode was the most-watched "Glee" episode ever.
Stars and their movies:
There's a film in the works about heroic pilot, Captain CHESLEY "Sully" SULLENBERGER. Sully was the guy who ditched US Airways flight 1549 in the Hudson River in January, 2009, after a three-and-a-half-minute flight, with everybody on the plane able to evacuate safely before the plane went down in the river.
Now, Daily Variety magazine says producers have optioned Sully's book, "Highest Duty: My Search for What Really Matters," as a basis for the upcoming film.Off the beaten path:
A Pennsylvania farmer who fell into manure pit has been upgraded to good condition.
The Reading Eagle (RED-ding), says 28-year-old MICHAEL MARTIN fell into the pit when the loader he was operating fell into the cattle waste. He was rescued by firefighters using an aerial ladder truck.
Police think the loader slid on a muddy section of the farm after a daylong rainstorm.
Editor's note: So the good news is, the man who fell into the manure pit is getting better. The bad news: He still has no visitors. (Maiman)Use it or lose it:
