She's dead, Jim:
Sorry to hear BARBARA BILLINGSLEY passed away Saturday morning in Santa Monica, CA. She was 94. She was best known to all of us as Beaver Cleaver's mother, June, back when "Leave It To Beaver" was on in the late 50s and early 60s.
But let's not forget the terrific bit in "Airport!" as the passenger who spoke jive and translated for the stewardess!Diaper duty:
ALICIA KEYS is the newest member of the Hollywood mommy brigade. Her rep tells Us Weekly magazine the singer and hubby SWIZZ BEATZ (Real name: KASSEEM DEAN) welcomed a bouncing baby boy named EGYPT DAOUD DEAN last Thursday night. Dad "tweeted" the news from the maternity ward that he's "so thankful for everything I been blessed with in my life" while MARY J. BLIGE sent congratulations via the social networking site. The new papa is primed and ready for late-night feedings and colic --he has three children from previous relationships. (Lee)
Diaper duty, part deux:
NEIL PATRICK HARRIS and his longtime partner, DAVID BURTKA, are the proud daddies of twin babies. The actor "tweeted" the news that they've got one of each flavor --GIDEON SCOTT and HARPER GRACE --who came into the world on October 12th via a surrogate mother. The actor says the foursome is happy, healthy, tired and "a little pukey." (Lee)
Culture shock:
In case you're keeping track, American teenagers now send roughly 3,339 texts a month, or six for every hour that they're awake.
By looking at phone bills, Nielsen number-crunchers found that teens (defined as people between the ages of 13 and 17) lead the pack in texting, while people between the ages of 18-24 only send 1,630 texts a month, or a measly three an hour.
And the number only declines the older people get. By the time people are in their 60s, texting statistics virtually disappear.
The study also found that girls sent 1,500 more texts than boys a month, and most significantly, that while teen text messaging is going up, call-time is decreasing. Teen calls have dropped 14 percent since last year, and with the exception of people over 55, every age group spends more time talking on the phone than teenagers do. (Maiman)Fashion Emergency:
Warning: note sexual content.
A British psychologist named DONNA DAWSON is studying the science behind skivvies. Yahoo!.com reports the good doctor conducted a poll about chonies and claims the color of undergarments says a lot about a woman's personality --and sex style!
--Nude. Gals that prefer flesh tones are natural, easy-going, down-to-earth and transparent.
--Red. These passionate women are energetic, driven and not shy about asking for what they want. Beware --she may be a little moody and driven by drama.
--Pink. True romantics at heart, chicks in blush tones are feminine, sensuous and would never take the lead.
--Black. A lady in black is powerful, sultry, deeply passionate and has subtle charm.
--White. Uh oh. She may seem innocent, but a gal that chooses this pure color is open to suggestion --and a willing learner. Yee ha! (Lee)Looking for Love in all the Wrong Places:
A cruise ship operator in London is looking for 22 guests to board a week-long butt-nekkid cruise.
The London Daily Telegraph confirms the company --called eWaterways --is booking its first-ever "au natural" cruise to the coast of Croatia. Tickets are only 750-bucks. Along the way, guests get to stop off at several of Croatia's famous nudist retreats, including a place known as the "island of love."
A spokeswoman says "Passengers will get undressed for swimming and sunbathing, but will be clothed for dinner".
Editor's note: Then, they get naked again for "dessert." (Still)
