TV Briefs:
Another day, another JUSTIN BIEBER /"Glee" story.
This time Deadline.com says "Glee" will be doing three songs by Justin in an episode that airs Feb 15 (the week following the Super Bowl return).
On that show, Sam Evans (played by CHORD OVERSTREET) decides to start a boy band. And, this time frame also fits in with the upcoming release of Justin's 3D biopic, "Never Say Never."
No word on the songs that will be spotlighted on "Glee." Yet. And, Entertainment Weekly says LADY GAGA's new single, "Born This Way," is set to performed on "Glee" in March or April. (Marino)Casting Call:
Big news on "The Hobbit" front. Daily Variety magazine says ANDY SERKIS, who starred as Gollum in the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy, will be back to play the character in both new films as well. Also, the Hollywood Reporter says IAN McKELLEN will also be returning as the wizard, Gandalf, in the two-film set as well.
As you know, ELIJAH WOOD signed his deal to return as Frodo last week, and CATE BLANCHETT will be back as Galadriel as well.
Still not signed: ORLANDO BLOOM, although he's reportedly in talks to return as the elf Legolas.Grace Notes:
If you're going to see LINKIN PARK on its upcoming tour, you'll be able to download the concert for free as soon as you get home. The band's official Web site says a code will be displayed at each stop on the tour. You send a text message to that code, and a download link will be emailed to you. Linkin Park's tour kicks off on January 20th in Sunrise, Florida. (Marino)
Idiots or Insane:
We never thought this day would come: A musician plans to perform every Beatles song on a ukulele.
New York music producer ROGER GREENAWALT will crank up his annual marathon concert of the Beatles on ukulele this weekend in Brooklyn. That's all 185 Beatles songs performed in four shows across a 24-hour period.
He'll have another person with him to do the singing.
And if you bring a ukulele ahead of time, you get in free and get to perform on stage with Greenawalt. He's hoping to get 100 ukulele players on stage.
FYI: Late Beatle GEORGE HARRISON was a big fan of the ukulele.
You can find the collection on iTunes.
Editor's note: Boy, through in a guy who plays the cellophane-comb and mouth harp and you've got yourself a road band. (Maiman)Aliens and anal probes:
A Colorado man plans to build a full-sized stone replica of the Great Pyramid of Giza -- in the Rocky Mountains.
39-year-old PHIL HILL --who calls himself UFO PHIL -- claims to be in possession of "secret blueprints and schematics" for building a 500-foot tall pyramid on top of Pikes Peak. But wait, it gets even more interesting. Phil says he received the blueprints from alien beings.
Once the pyramid is completed, the guy plans to somehow use it to generate hydrogen gas, which can then be used to generate free energy for the entire planet. Hill hasn't given a firm timetable for the completion of his Pyramid.
He says, "I've started on the foundation. But, I am waiting for the city to approve my permits." Hill also admits the mayor of nearby Colorado Springs won't return his phone calls.
UFO Phil can be contacted for an interview at (719) 359-5836 or by email at ufophil@ufophil.com. (Still)
