Bid'ness is Bid'ness:
Heinz is going green. The ketchup will stay red, but the bottle will be more environmentally friendly.
According to Reuters, HJ Heinz Co will use a plastic bottle Coca-Cola developed, made partly from plant materials. No financial details were given, but Coke and Heinz announced the deal yesterday.
Thirty-percent of Coke's greener bottles are made with sugar cane from Brazil. The company is currently trying to find a way to convert the remaining 70-percent to a plant-based material. Coke's goal is to convert all of its plastic bottles to the more environmentally friendly one by 2020. (Page)Latest and greatest, Dep't:
Satisfied with that iPad you bought? Don't get too excited --Wired magazine says there's a version 2.0 which will be announced Wednesday at a San Francisco press conference.
The secretive Apple PR Dep't sent out e-mail invitations to members of the press with a not-so-subtle image of a calendar entry peeled back to reveal the corner of an iPad screen.Gossip Central:
LeANN RIMES is being a bridezilla. In Touch magazine reports that the singer is planning to wear three dresses when she marries EDDIE CIBRIAN, one for the ceremony, one for the dinner and one for the dance floor. (Myers)
Reality Round-Up:
Last season it was BRISTOL PALIN on "Dancing with the Stars." This season, the TV Show has already asked former Tea Party senatorial candidate CHRISTINE O'DONNELL from Delaware to be on the show.
Christine wrote on her Facebook page yesterday: "I just got the Official 'Ask' from Dancing With The Stars !! Although I am utterly flattered, my initial thought was to decline, as 2 year old nephew has more rhythm than me, and my two left feet!!"
Christine has been rumored to have been in talks since season 11 ended... and she hasn't definitively said "no," so it could still happen.Grace notes:
CHRIS BROWN's new album, "F.A.M.E." is full of collaborations. The 13-track release features JUSTIN BIEBER on a track called "Next 2 You." This is payback for Chris showing up on the remix of "Up" which is on Justin's latest chart-topper, "Never Say Never: The Remixes." Other guest stars include LIL WAYNE, BUSTA RHYMES, LUDACRIS, WIZ KHALIFA and TIMBALAND. Look for Chris's album on March 22nd. A deluxe edition will include four extra tracks. (Marino)
Dumb science:
A Japanese company is offering nose jobs without surgery.
WeirdAsianNews.com says a 144-dollar product called "Beauty Lift High Nose" (pictures) promises to "vibrate the nose and stimulate the bone." The end result, apparently, is a better-looking beak. And, it only takes minutes a day.
All you have to do is slip the gadget over your nose and flip a switch and --voila!-- you'll have the perfect profile in no time. (Still)Use it or lose it:
We do a once-a-month "Dream Analysis" Day with LAURI QUINN LOEWENBERG, who always manages to pull some interesting calls. She not only is quick and witty but gives "sound bite" answers which moves the pace along. Tomorrow morning she'll be on the "Dr OZ" show, so if you'd like to see her in action, knock yourself out.
She's a great guest. Her website (if you want to do some research); book her by calling 888-536-5213 ext. 2. Feel free to use my name. (RB)
