Gradually Sliding...

My friend Carol's Facebook status personifies how most feel on this Monday:
"Is thinking about gradually sliding into this week. No need to jump or be thrown in- doing that always leaves me with a blank stare on my face, wondering what in the world just happened."
So as I attempt to proceed with caution there's still business ahead. My daughter has returned home from college (insert jokes about turning her bedroom into an office here). It's wonderful having her home however she is burned out from studying (insert she needs to spend a day in my shoes joke here). Anyway, she's home and rebooting; her summer starts now, but her sister is not out for another month because high school is not over until the end of June.
All schools end at different times, some home-schoolers are finished for the year too. I remember my childhood summers being very carefree. Not so much nowadays, kids are busy going to science camp, soccer camp, wilderness camp, band camp, day camp, night camp, or sleep-away camp. The options are never ending, and the prices are steep. This only ads to the cyclical nature of 'staying busy', something we have all grown into. Many radio stations are celebrations the "100 days of summer". Perhaps a pleasant reminder could tweak humanity a bit, making that the "100 days of a lazy hazy summer."
