Food trucks are all the rage. You can get anything from Chili Rellano, Arabic chicken and rice to deep fried ice cream out the side of a truck. I wonder how Mr. Softee and the Good Humor Man feel about this. Who didn't get excited when our childhood playtime would be interrupted by the chimes of a truck bearing frozen treats. That bell had every kid running for money. I'd always get a Bomb Pop, a red, white and blue rocket shaped Popsicle. It always tasted better coming from the Ice Cream man even though my mom could get a box of pops for the price I paid for one. My Aunt Diana had a rule that her kids could not get any thing from good ole Charlie Chimes if there was ice cream in her home freezer. My cousin Christine and I found this to be a cruel rule especially since Charlie didn't visit our neighborhood often.
Nowadays the ice cream truck frequents playground and schools and food trucks feed major metropolitan cities breakfast, lunch and dinner....and don't forget there's ice cream for dessert.

Gas prices are mind boggling to her. Here are a few reasons why the price is so high. Summer driving increases the demand for gas, due to all the extra miles covered for vacations. Many US gasoline refineries shut down for maintenance in the spring. Federal rules require special blends and additives for specific regions, making it less efficient to move gas to different stations. Worldwide demand for crude is still on the rise, plus other countries have less gas to offer this year. Add trouble in Nigeria and OPEC limits, and you don't need an economics class to do that math.
