Theres a plethora of amazing bakers offering decorated cakes beyond my wildest imagination. I am in search of an occasion where affording one of these cakes deems worth it. After I come up with the occasion I'll come up with the cake. These elaborate works of art are costly and not just for any budget or birthday. In scanning the calendar there are no major celebrations expected until 2013, the year my oldest graduates college. There are regular events mixed in but none I really want to spend a couple of hundred dollars on a cake for. I'm putting on a chefs hat and attempting to make a cake in the shape of a guitar, the directions seem easy enough (www.coolest-birthday-cakes.com)) and I know going into it that it won't look as polished as the a Chef Duff creation from Ace of Cakes. But it's the frosting that counts right?
