Gather

Family Reunions are happening all over the country this summer. From the Wisconsin Dells to Albany, New York, many family members will join up to celebrate their legacy. These gathering bring out the best and, of course, the worst in people. My girlfriend Melissa just returned from a reunion with her husbands family. Unfortunately her spouse, Paul, returned home with hurt feelings. Since last summers reunion he has lost 30 pounds, had his teeth capped and cut his hair short and not one of his family members next to his mom mentioned the dramatic change in his appearance. They did comment on how big the kids got and blabbed about the make and model of everyones car, but Paul's brothers did not comment on how good he looked. Or did they ignore it? I question as to whether or not they avoided this compliment because they were, dare I say, jealous. Or is that too 'female?'
