Four year olds

I had a sweet little four-year old boy named Iggy over to swim today. He looked so cute in his swim trunks and swimmies. I sprayed sunscreen on him carefully and found the perfect sized goggles for his cute little face. His mom was here too and it was so my pleasure to pour her a glass of tea and let her soak up some sun while I played with her boy. Spending time with Iggy totally took me back to when my kids were young; kids this age laugh easily. Most air talent relate and understand the demo of the children they live with. Having a little one around again reminded me of the things I need to stay fresh on; for example, four-year olds are slower, cuter and complicated. They need praise after they washed their hands to the tune of the A,B,C's, and they need help with "potty things." I was cutting up watermelon with Iggy, giving him a dull knife to slice little blocks with, he thought this melon tasted "plain," so we sprinkled a little sugar on it. Had I not been with a toddler whose mother was snoring I probably wouldn't have done this but really it was tasty. Iggy likes vanilla ice cream, Lego, logs and the color green. I asked him if he liked Handy Manny and Elmo he said yes; when I asked him whom his favorite TV friend was he said Sponge Bob. Somehow I think this answer will stick with him for life.
