My youngest daughter Hannah is not a fan of malls and shopping, unlike my oldest daughter who lived at The Limited Two growing up. I sent Hannah a text saying we had to go back to school shopping, she texted back "Joy." My plan was to go to the mall on a weeknight an hour and a half before closing time, with a budget. Hannah's goal was to find clothes that made her look like a rock star; skinny jeans, pure black Converse, studded belts and band t-shirts. PAC Sun, Forever 21, Hot Topic and Journeys provided most of the necessary rock star items. JCPenney's and Old Navy handled the basics. Giving this excursion a time limit, a list, a budget and a goal brought awesome results. Thankfully the right sizes were in stock and the salespeople we helpful and happy. We will be apologizing to Lady Gaga and Steven Tyler for limiting their stylists' options, but a moms gotta do what a moms gotta do.
