My kids want a new cat. We lost our beloved Figaro almost a year ago. "Fig" was 13 years old and got cancer. This was an excruciating time and so hard to watch. Now as I ponder another family member I realize my teens are really old enough to care for a cat. There's the cliche story of how everyone in the family wants a pet but it's really the mom who ends up taking care of it. Everyone wants to sleep with the warm cuddly ball of fur, but when it comes to cleaning out the litter box most stay sleeping. As I started surfing the Humane Society and Good Mews websites I got totally overwhelmed with all the available animals. I want to care for all of them! Then again, while reading Harry Potter I wanted to adopt him too, I mean who could allow such a boy to sleep under the stairs!

Yet, a fictitious character is much different than something that could claw you furniture.

Just giving you a glimpse into all the emotions women deal with on a daily basis.
