10 Minute Manicure

During a layover in Toronto I literally walked into a sign that said "10 Minute Manicure." As someone who gets regular manicures I know sometimes the drying time alone can take this long so I inquired because my flight was delayed 30 minutes and a manicure was the one thing I did not have time to do before this trip. "Do you really mean 10 minutes?" I asked. I was assured that a skilled esthetician would whip my nails into shape and apply an extra quick drying organic polish and that 15 minutes would be ideal. So I went for it and somehow got the slowest nail tech ever. I was surprised she worked at this place. As I did a slow burn and watched my plane start to board I began to reevaluate how I could have possibly believed something I knew sounded too good to be true. I had a good 30 minutes along with communication that supported the 10 minute promise. I smiled and did not start a conversation (which tends to slow things down) with the tech and still I found myself walking onto an airplane feeling a little ripped off with one clear base coal on my nails because it could dry faster due to my time restriction. Good thing I didn't opt for the 10 minute pedicure.
