I'll be breaking down small memories from my Olympic trip to London in an attempt to show what makes things memorable, and then give a glance at women and their similarities regardless of their culture. I'll start with the stroller. No matter where I was, whether is was on the tube, on an escalator, in a store, or on the street at an Olympic game, there was a women pushing a child in a stroller. I know, lucky toddler that got to see an Olympic event, right!? Strollers get the job done; they transport a little person and all their supplies in a compact size, except for the British pram, these take up a bit more space. If you've had a baby you know strollers are an essential nuisance and navigating in and out of a sea of people with a cranky little person on four wheels can be aggravating for the driver, the passenger and the surrounding people. Give grace, give room and give compliments. I commented on the lovely children being pushed by a British nanny, a burka clad mother, a young mom and mother from Thailand. All women had the same proud happy smile and received this communication happily. In London, or in Iowa, a stroller is a connector to things that make her smile.
