Summer

Summer is happening right now, even if you are living in a place that has been in the throws of winter (that's a majority of our beautiful country) women are thinking about summer. This is the season to seal your child's slot for any popular summer camp. I can remember shoveling out a good foot of snow from our driveway in New Jersey just so I could get in line at our local YMCA to get a lottery number so my kids could have a chance to attend that areas most popular day camp. After ariving dutifully for our alloted time slot we moms and a few dads would be standing in line wearing boots and parkas with a 'why does it have to be this way' look on our face. There should be an online option and for the cool sleep-away camps there are for those coveted day camps. Early acceptance usually brings a slight discount in price too as long as your deposit goes through. My oldest daughter attended a diabetes camp while growing up and the day we'd pick her up from this experience she'd speak about all year long, was also the day the deposit for next years camp was required. You had to hold your slot or someone else would nab it. The need and the wait list was that intense. A lot of families plan their summer around their kids camps and schools and all that planning starts now. too. Take note of all the cruise ship commercials that flood our screens, if she's not desperate to get away from it all now she might be planning something like that now for later. So even if your January calendar is sporting a snowy image, she is seeing some sunshine.
