My Wonder Woman themed face mask gets more attention than I was expecting. The checkout clerk at Target struck up an interesting conversation, stating that Wonder Woman was a real person, and her husband created the lie detector test, hence her golden lasso of truth. After a little research, I wasn’t able to find conclusive evidence for this tale, but I would like to believe the truth is out there.
The maker of my mask is one of my bravest girlfriends, Sarita. She is a wife, mother, and formerly had an incredible career in marketing and video game development. Now, she’s has chosen to study costume design instead of retirement. She’ll joke and say she’ll be the oldest in the classroom, but she’ll really be the bravest. When I landed a gig as a guest model on Project Runway, she was the friend I could not wait to tell. Maybe soon we will see her as one of the competitors!
When it comes to retirement, prioritizing joy after years of working is what we are told to do, but rarely do I really see anyone embrace this. Her goals are admirable, and what you’d want for yourself maybe, or for your children. It’s one thing to encourage people to dream, it’s a whole other ballgame to actually do it. Get in line if you want the best Halloween costume ever; Sarita specializes in Disney designs, but there’s not much she can’t create.
