This pandemic started with a list of things that were canceled, and we fought that with things that weren’t, like family dinner time, hope, hikes, bikes, naps, and love. Now, as schools, restaurants, and gyms reopen, I wonder how long this image of “real life” will last before reality crashes in again with COVID. Two days after Parkland Elementary reopened its doors they were forced to close again due to COVID. This is a reoccurring story that involves sports teams, businesses, small-owned shops, and more. Of course, this decision is super hard on the families and school staff, but Parkland chose to rebound with positivity. That same week, every teacher placed a pumpkin with art supplies on their student's lawns, along with a note of encouragement and directions on how to turn that pumpkin into a turkey. This act of love ended up making kids smile and their neighbors too, who also benefited from the festive decoration the kids created.
One smile will lead to another, even if it’s hidden behind a face mask. I am wearing a Face mask are you? @Bethbacall
