Let's recall your 2021 resolution. It hasn't been that long since you picked it. Hopefully, you're still filled with motivation for whatever you seek to accomplish. According to Finder.com, an estimated 188.9 million Americans (74.02% of the population), set a personal goal to better themselves in 2021. Health, career, money, family, love, and self-improvement are at the top of common goals.
It's a fact that it takes at least 30 days to start a habit. Like a car engine on a cold day, we need to warm up in order to get going. So if discouragement has tampered with your plan, give yourself some grace, a lot of it.
It's a good exercise to give some insight into your New Year, but even the best intentions can get packed away with the Christmas decorations, and as life continues that goal can fade. It's easier to pick a resolution than to stick with it. Usually, we're unable to see resolutions through to success due to a lack of willpower. Others blame it on forgetting, being too lazy, or some other reason. And, of course, COVID is a factor this year.
Are you depending on yourself to accomplish your goal? Ask for help, find a group that offers accountability--social media has a ton of options. Or better yet reach out to your listener. They are skilled in giving opinions and advice. You might even form a common bond you were not expecting.
