Gasoline

The Colonial Pipeline closure greatly affected my area in Atlanta.
I saw long lines of cars waiting to fill up at a gas station that has two pumps available. This was disconcerting. The digital gas price board changed frequently, the less gas available, the higher the price.
I waited 50 minutes for my chance to fill up only to be side-swiped by a landscaper and his For F150 truck. He slides into the opposite side of the tank that would finally be mind and proceeded to fill his tank and a few extras in his truck.
The people in line behind me were fuming and that side of the gas station grew very tense. His truck boldly shared his landscaping company name, so did his uniform. He definitely didn't gain anyone's business when he drove away with a smirk and left that gas pump empty. I'm not kidding.
The tension built and I had no recourse but to find any gas station, which I did and as I filled my tank a fistfight broke out at the pump a few feet from me. I drove away with the radio gently keeping me company.
Fast forward a few weeks and it’s no problem pumping this highly-priced gas.
Why do things need to be taken away before we realize their worth?
