Spring's been knock, knock, knocking on her door. and depending on what region she lives in, sometimes it plays ding-dong ditch. Right now most women over the age of thirty are looking at a future that looms large, with graduations and weddings in the planning phases. Invitations are ordered, catering tastings are happening, bridal showers are being thrown, and so on. Besides handling so many of these details, she needs to find something fabulous to wear to these events. Perhaps Project Runway winner Seth Aaron can dress her? Or is now the time to do that designer shoe promotion?
PTA and school events are electing who will stay in office next year, and in some communities this is pretty cut-throat stuff. High-school juniors are still studying for the SAT's and visiting potential colleges, while high-school seniors are finalizing their plans for the future, which means at least one parent is having no fun filling out the FASFA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). It's one of those forms that takes forever to fill out and usually results in no mo money. Really, just say FASFA and parents of graduating seniors will cringe.
Many of my girlfriends are in diet mode, picturing themselves looking decent in a bathing suit. Others wear baggy, spit-up-covered gym clothes as her newborn baby dictates what she will do with her day.
You are an important element in her day, since radio personalities are the one companion she can always truly trust to be there. She's driving with you on her way to the grocery store, where it's full of the season's best: green peas, artichokes, asparagus and spinach. Now, if she only had the time to make that frittata she saw in her favorite magazine as she waited for her son at track practice. Spring-cleaning is on her to-do list. Some tackle this job in one day, but putting away winter gear can really exhaust a girl. Where's that number for Domino's?
She's not so sure
Studies are showing that Botox injections could reduce the frequency of migraine headaches. She might just want to keep getting these headaches so her insurance will pay for the Botox she can't afford.

Cow-pooling: buying your meat directly from the farmer. Families get together to order enough grass-fed beef to slaughter a cow.
Geocaching: an outdoor treasure-hunting game where the players use a GPS to hide and seek caches. A cache is a waterproof container that holds a little trinket or treasure. It's free to play but you must register at www.Geocaching.com.
Monokini: a one-piece bathing suit with the sides cut out and possibly laced up.
She's pregnant
- She can wear her favorite jeans, before, during, and after she has a baby. Denim Therapy will put in and then take out side panels so they will grow with her belly. It costs about $12 per pair, which is a lot cheaper than maternity wear. www.denimtherapy.com/maternity-jeans
- The DIGNI-tee is a hospital gown that snaps on the sides; she might prefer this while in labor. www.ivwear.com
She fact

She fraud
Insurance fraud is on the rise. Drivers unable to afford their car payments (especially the pricey versions) are torching their vehicles in remote locations, pushing them off cliffs, and sinking them in lakes with the hope that their insurance will pay for it. Nationwide, arson and vehicle fires have increased 27 percent in this year's first quarter. This is not an easy way out; it's a crime.

She shopping tips
- The Food Marketing Institute showed these shopping finds:
- Men are more likely to stick to a shopping list.
- Major brands pay more to have their products placed at eye level on store shelves and on the end caps. Better deals can be found by looking at the lower shelves.
- For every 100 items, two are scanned at the wrong price; she needs to check her receipt.
- Most non-food items like toiletries and cleaning supplies are priced much higher at the grocery store than at a place like Target.
- Fresh and frozen fish can have the same level of quality, yet frozen can be priced about 40 percent less.
- Premium and generic store brands don't have many differences.
