It's a sad fact that many women rely on their teenagers to teach then the latest in social media or how to download iTunes, but they do. There's a weird cutoff date where on one end you've got women like Chloe from 24 who can zigzag their way in and out of every program or device possible (and look good while doing it). Then you've got my neighbor Dorothy who at 43 years of age can barely send a text message. She shops from catalogues and does not have an email address. Why? Because she missed the cutoff. She's a single, self-employed interior painter (who listens to the radio all day long) and she hasn't put herself in a position to learn. She's got apps and Facebook flying right by her. Then there are the moms who have a Smartphone but no clue how to work it to its full potential. They make calls, send texts and take cute pictures of their kids. A surprisingly large portion of the population still uses dial-up internet (gasp) because they can't afford the cost of high-speed internet access..Keep in mind that most women are cool with most computer basics and they want to learn more. You actually have an opportunity to hold her hand as she downloads your app along with a good battle of the sexes to see who could work more of the technical elements in her household verses who knows how to work the appliances. But be nice, she's well aware of what she's up against.
