Shoving a piece of toast in my mouth while I'm running out the door is unfortunately my idea of breakfast. Mornings fly by no matter how much time and planning you put into them. I'm thinking about dropping kids with their lunch and band instruments at school and getting through a commute that is never any fun. Orthodontist appointments, show prep and what bills need to be payed float through my head as does American Idol.
Believe it or not I've not seen a single episode this season. And I don't think I'm unique. I used to be a big idol fan but slowly I became disinterested, although I do know who the finalists are and their predecessors thanks to MSN's "Last Night on TV." I predict Crystal will win and I've seen her sing maybe a total of 3 minutes.
The Dow, what to make for dinner and necessary summer-camp physicals filter into my mind while I'm stuck in traffic. I'm flipping through the dials and yep, every single station I've hit has mentioned something about American Idol. I wonder if I should consider purchasing sessions a my local "fake and bake" tanning salon just to give me a head start into the Memorial Day weekend.
Those who garden (I don't) are in their glory with this being prime planting, tilling and weeding time. Sheer patience is the only thing stopping her from starting her tomato plants early. Patio furniture is being pulled from the shed and grills and being cleaned and primed. Schoolteachers see the end in sight, as do the kids, and their reactions are strikingly similar.
